This temple was on our list of places to see for sure. We are, after all, three strong and single women who happened to meet in Cambodia. Where better to visit than the temple best known as ‘the lady temple’.

The temple was built in the 10th century and dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It was built in red sandstone, so that and the fact that its translated name is citadel of the women, and that it is a smaller temple than many others in the region, it is often thought of as the lady temple.

The thing that sets it apart from many others, however, is the intricacy of the carvings. The artwork is better preserved than many others, and it is also the most detailed.
